Kidsart! workshops are fun art and design sessions for making cool stuff... stuff like top secret boxes with hidden compartments to hide your top secret things in. The pirate treasure chest looks really realistic, and is much easier to make than it looks. Or you can camouflage or decorate your box however you like - it's also great for keeping photos in.

During August the summery fun will also include making UFO’s, complete with alien pilots invented by you, so let your imagination run riot! The flying saucers really look as if they are floating in mid air (thanks to some special invisible string that we use.)

A favourite activity is the Kidsart! hand puppet, where your fingers become its arms, which makes it look really animated. These puppets make a great self portrait - a little mini you! But you can make all sorts of characters or creatures, real or imaginary. They make great lions, tigers, elephants, zebras, kings and queens, or any other favourite character - Bart Simpson is always popular, but I bet you can think of lots more!

August activities will also include some special model-making and animation workshops, where you can invent your own character and make a short film. Please reserve your place on any of the August workshops in advance by calling Claire on 07940 497848 or email kidsartfunworkshops@gmail.com

All of the materials and tuition for the activities are provided by practising artist and graphic designer Claire Yeoman. She loves inventing the activities for you, but she’s always really happy when you add your own artistic ideas and put your own creative stamp on them. The main aim of the workshops is to give children fun opportunities to explore their creativity with a wide range of materials - and sometimes, parents can't resist joining in too! Emphasis is on thinking and designing creatively, recycling, making personalised art and design projects, and having a lot of fun!
