Start with a Sketch to Glove Puppet-making

Half- day workshop led by Greg Stephens (Cornelius Clifford puppets) and artist Fiona Campbell, aimed at children aged 5+ accompanied by adults.

Making simple glove puppets initiated by sketches inspired by the exhibition ‘Sketch’ and resources provided, using found materials eg fabric, faux fur, foam, beads, buttons, wire, pipe cleaners.

As part of the national touring exhibition ‘Sketch’, showing at Black Swan Arts, 22 July – 3 September, and sponsored by Visual Arts South West to give young people the chance to get creative during the summer holiday.

Organic forms using soft natural materials

An experimental workshop exploring natural materials and forms. Weave, plait, bind or stitch grasses, sedge leaves, twigs, and willow to create bowl-like, leaf-like and abstract forms.

A family friendly workshop making experimental organic forms with reclaimed and found materials including wire, twine, wood, netting, steel and plastic components. A chance to explore new ideas and techniques in response to the natural environment and inspired by work in the exhibition. All ages welcome, children accompanied please.

One day jewellery making workshop

Jewellery Making Workshop | 1 Day

Whether you are new to jewellery making or just want to learn a new technique, this is a course for you.

Linda will guide you into designing your own pieces of jewellery and encourage you to creating something you really want to make from stacking rings, pendants, earrings, cufflinks…..and much more. You will learn basic jewellery making skills in a creative and fun setting and walk away with something special made by you.

Filigree workshop

Filigree workshop – One Day ( 10:00 – 16:30 )

Yasemin runs Filigree Workshops at the Round Tower, Black Swan Arts in Frome, Somerset. This beautiful historic drying mill is now used as an art gallery and exhibition centre.

This one day beginners workshop provides an excellent introduction to this ancient wire shaping skill, teaching you all the key stages and processes of creating a pendant or earrings. No prior knowledge of jewellery making is necessary.

Silver Jewellery Workshop | Half Day

Indulge in 3 hours of pure jewellery making fun! Linda will guide you into designing and creating your own unique piece of jewellery from a pendant, earrings or ring. You will learn how to texture silver using an embossing machine as well as basic jewellery making skills to shape and form your creation into a lovely piece of jewellery that you’ll be proud to wear.
