The Jester's Tea Party- Si Griffiths
The Round Tower
Saturday 13th August- Saturday 3rd September

A riotous explosion of colourful lowbrow pop surrealism, exploring the yin and yang of life.

Simon J Griffiths is a self-taught artist influenced by surrealism, lowbrow, street art, tattoo art, fantasy art and comic books. He has drawn and painted sporadically since a teenager, and started painting in earnest 8 years ago after personal trauma and being inspired to paint again by the Visionary artist S V Mitchell.

His work explores the balance of yin and yang in life, often using satire.

He predominantly works in acrylic.

Mahtola Eagle-Lippiatt
Divas Cafe
Thursday 18th August- Thursday 20th October

“Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves.” ~Henry David Thoreau

This is a body of stunning photographic work drawn together from the past three years, from the times Mahtola managed to get off course, to make connections to a place in substance and expression.

Volunteer at Black Swan Arts

Want to get involved in the arts? Want to help the community? Like free tea and cake? Then come and help volunteer at the Black Swan!

We are helped by a small and very loyal army of volunteers without whom the building could not function. You can help us during our 30th Anniversary Year with a range of tasks, from stewarding the main gallery though to admin and marketing, even the occasional bit of painting (you don't need to be an artist for the last one).

For further details and to be part of the team come in and speak to one of our friendly stewards in the main gallery or contact Emma in the office on 01373 473980 [email protected]
